Relationship Counselling

This course is suitable for those considering a career as a Relationship Counsellor or looking to add the relationship counselling skillset to other therapy modalities. These may include:

• Existing workers who have over three years of experience and wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge in a new or existing industry sector OR
• Existing workers who wish to have their current skills and knowledge recognised OR
• Existing workers who wish to move into higher positions within their industry OR
• Individuals wishing to change careers or enter into a new career.

• Students seeking entry into this course will have obtained an undergraduate degree or higher qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, social science or equivalent OR
• Students who have obtained a CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling from the CHC Community Services Training Package or equivalent

Upon successful graduation, you will receive a government-accredited CHC81015 Graduate Diploma of Relationship Counselling.

You have 12-18 months to complete this course.

• CHCFCS001 Facilitate the family counselling process
• CHCFCS002 Provide relationship counselling
• CHCFCS003 Provide counselling to children and young people
• CHCPRP007 Work within a clinical supervision framework

• CHCPRP006 Lead Own Professional Development
• CHCDFV006 Counsel Clients Affected by Domestic and Family Violence
• CHCDFV012 Make Safety Plans with people who have been subjected to domestic and Family Violence
• CHCDFV013 Manage Domestic and Family Violence and Abuse Screening and Risk assessment processes
• CHCFCS004 Provide grief and loss counselling
• CHCCCS003 Increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide

• Work-placement support will be available to students
• Students have the option of undertaking placements in their workplace (if appropriate)

Pre-Paid fees paid by students are protected under clause 7.3 of the Standards for RTOs 2015 through a Bank Guarantee held by IAP.

RPL is available. A non-refundable assessment fee of $500 for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is required at the time of submission of your completed RPL application. Please note that there are no reductions in fees or refunds for any units awarded through the RPL process.
