GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION:

Located 4km from Melbourne’s CBD, there are many ways to get to the Abbotsford Convent.

BIKE/WALK 

The ride or walk to the Convent is spectacular, with the Capital City cycling and walking path directly passing the site. The St Heliers Street turn-off is opposite the entrance to the Collingwood Children’s Farm.  Capital City Trail.

 

TRAIN

Catch a Mernda or Hurstbridge line train to Victoria Park Station. The train station is a 10 – 15 minute walk to the Convent, or you can catch the 200 or 207 bus to Clarke Street, Abbotsford. Note: some peak-hour express services on weekdays skip Victoria Park Station.

BUS

Catch the 200 or 207 bus to Clarke Street, Abbotsford. The bus stop is a 3 – 5 minute walk to the Convent.

CAR 

The Abbotsford Convent is located at the end of St Heliers Street, Abbotsford. The easiest way to get there is to go via Johnston Street, turn onto Clarke Street, then turn left onto St Heliers Street. Google Maps | MELWAYS: Ref 44 G5

Parking: No vehicles are permitted onsite. All day parking is available in the car park directly across from the Convent on St Heliers Street. The machines accept credit cards, notes and gold coins. Funds from the car park go towards the restoration and daily operation of the Convent. 

 

WHAT TO WEAR:

May we suggest you wear comfortable clothing and possibly a  sweater or garment. We also suggest you wear layers, especially in winter, so you can accommodate variables in temperature.


PLEASE BRING:

A pad and pens Drivers license or another form of photo identification Water/Fluids (This course is catered for with tea and coffee provided)
