During the pandemic, the world has been a living laboratory, albeit an involuntary and unfortunate one. But new insights emerge from challenging times as do some confirmations of what has previously only been suspected.
But, new insights emerge from challenging times as do some confirmations of what has previously only been suspected. The huge rise in the rates of depression and anxiety, especially in young people in the last two years strongly suggests it is time to re-think what we think we know about depression. The mental health profession is clearly going to have to make some adaptations if it is to serve those already struggling and those still at risk.
Dr. Michael Yapko has been studying depression intensively for nearly half a century. His expertise is evident in the 16 books he has authored, the ongoing demand for his insights in clinical training around the world, and the honor and acknowledgement he was given years ago when asked to write the authoritative section on “Treating Depression” for Encyclopedia Britannica.
In this 2-hour virtual presentation, Dr. Yapko will discuss insights emerging from new and novel treatments being investigated, both medical and psychological, changing social trends and priorities, and lessons learned from the pandemic. The echoes of all that has happened are only now beginning to be heard.
There will be ample time in the final half-hour of the webinar to address questions and comments from attendees.
