How to use this quiz
  1. Work through each question below and think honestly about your own work experience. Focus on the questions most relevant to the jobs you've done — you don't need to have done everything to be a good RPL candidate.
  2. Choose the rating that honestly matches your experience: Y = Yes, I've done this and could show evidence (2 pts)  |  P = Partly, or I'm not sure (1 pt)  |  N = No / Not applicable (0 pts)
  3. Your scores and an overall result calculate automatically as you answer. There are no wrong answers — just be honest, as this only guides your next step.
Pick Yes if:you led or owned it  |  you managed / led / developed it  |  you wrote the policy / plan / report  |  you supervised people
Pick Partly if:you only helped with it  |  you were involved but didn't lead  |  it was a long time ago  |  you can't recall a specific example

Good to know — what this quiz can and can't tell you
  • This quiz is a guide, not a decision. Only a qualified IAP assessor can confirm what RPL you'll actually receive.
  • If you score well, book a free RPL consultation with a qualified IAP assessor before you enrol.
  • If you already hold a qualification that exactly matches a unit, you may be able to get Credit Transfer instead of RPL — just ask your advisor.
  • Before your assessor meeting, gather your evidence: position descriptions, performance reviews, employer letters, and work samples.
  • Your skills need to be current — experience from more than 5 years ago may need extra evidence that you still use it.
  • Partial RPL is common and worthwhile — you can claim RPL for some units and study the rest.
